Dr. Mugachia has about 35 years of experience in mixed animal health and production practice, university teaching, training and mentorship, environmental management, programme management, research, resource mobilization, leadership. He graduated with a Bachelor of Veterinary Medicine in 1988 and Master of Science in Pharmacology and Toxicology in 1992 from the University of Nairobi.
